GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Methodist Men’s Spring BBQ Chicken Dinner - April 24th. Pick up dinners starting at 3 PM on Wednesday, April 24th. We are still in need of some help prepping dinners. A volunteer signup sheet is in the Narthex. Please consider lending a helping hand. Tickets are sold out.
Methodist Women Bake Sale: The Methodist Women will be having their annual bake sale during the Methodist Men's Chicken Barbeque on Wednesday, April 24th . We are asking for baked goods donations if you care to bake some of your fantastic goodies. The people that come love our bake sale and has been a big hit for many years. We ask that you have your items to the church at 1:00 p.m. the day of the Barbeque in order to be priced and displayed. All proceeds will go towards our Scholarship Fund. Church Directory: We are updating our church directory. If you have not already given us your updated information, please email the church office this week. Please keep in mind the last time a directory was completed was 2017. A lot of folks have gone to cell phone number only.
We would also like to include a photo in the directory; however, we are not doing professional pictures. We are asking all families to submit a photo via email to office@centrevillemethodist.org. For more information, please contact the church office.
New Member Class: We will be having our next new member class on Saturday, May 4th from 9am – 12pm. If you haven’t signed up and are interested in becoming a member of CMC, you are welcome to join in the class. For more information, please feel free to contact the church office at 410-758-0868.
Methodist Women’s Potluck & Live Auction: Mark your calendars for Tuesday May 21st at 5:30 for our potluck dinner and live auction. It was so much fun last year with so many laughs. A sign-up sheet is in the narthex. This is not limited to just women! Feel free to invite your spouse, friend, neighbor. Contact Lynda Palmatary for more information.
Vacation Bible School (VBS) – The VBS Theme this year is Hometown Nazareth and will be held June 23 – June 27 from 6-8pm. Registration will open May 1st. We need volunteers! Please sign up in the narthex or contact the church office at 410-758-0868.
Praise Band & Kids Request Sunday: The praise band is collecting song requests from the children of our church during April. We will plan a Sunday or two where the songs are based on requests submitted by the children. Requests can be emailed to Julia Schinault at julsmorrva@gmail.com.
Backpack Program: If you have any plastic grocery bags laying around and would like to donate them to our backpack program, please drop them off in the K-1 Sunday School classroom or the church office.
Food Pantry: CMC's Food Pantry is open on the first and third Wednesdays of every month from 10 AM to 12 PM. Donations are always appreciated. We would like to express our gratitude to all of the anonymous donors who drop things off in our basket outside Fellowship Hall. Youth Group: Centreville Youth Ministry (CYM) meets the 2nd and 4th Sunday every month at 5:30pm. All youth 6-12 grade are invited!
Children’s Church: During the 8:40 am (Contemporary) service, on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month, children will be dismissed after the children’s message to go to the double classroom where they will have Children’s Church. If you are interested in helping with this ministry, please contact Janie Nickle.
Healing Service: We will be offering healing services each quarter starting in 2024. Our next healing service will be Sunday, July 7, 2024 at 7pm.
BIBLE STUDIES & MINISTRY GROUPS
The Story Bible Study: Wednesday’s at 1 PM and 7:30 PM led by Pastor Karen.
Beauty for Ashes: Join other women of faith as we pray, worship, and share the stories of our faith and how God has worked in our life. Women will meet the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30pm in the Yellow Room.
Iron Sharpens Iron Men’s Fellowship: The meetings will look at the biblical answers to issues that are unique to men. Meetings will be held in the Pentecost room in the Sunday School wing on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30pm.
Adult Sunday School Class: Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM in Fellowship Hall, please join us for a time of bible study, prayer, and fellowship. This class offers topical studies focusing on Christ that pertain to your everyday life. All are welcome!
Sewing Ministry: This ministry meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 10am-12pm in the Red Room. We work on sewing/knitting/crocheting projects each month. An e-mail goes out to those interested in the ministry a few days before the meeting letting everyone know what we will be working on. Altar Prayer Ministry: If you are interested in joining the Altar Prayer Ministry please sign up at the welcome table in the narthex. Dale Becraft will contact you to provide details and training.
Intercessory Prayer Group: It may sound sophisticated, but intercessory prayer simply means praying for others. Our prayer group meets every Tuesday morning at 10am in the prayer room. If you need prayer, or would like to pray for others, please feel free to join us. Anyone is welcome.
