General Announcements

The Church Office will be closed Friday, 4/18 (Good Friday) and Monday, 4/21 (Easter Monday). 

Lilies on the Altar: LAST CALL!  If you would like to place lilies on the altar this Easter in memory or honor of a loved one, please call the church office with your information no later than Wed. 4/16. You can call Murdoch’s florist to order your lily or if you prefer to bring your own, please make sure it is delivered to the church office no later than April 17th.

Memorial Garden Bricks: We are now taking orders for Memorial Garden Bricks. If you would like to purchase an engraved brick in memory of a loved one to be placed in our memorial garden this year, please pick up an order form in the narthex. Brick order forms and payment are due by April 27. 

Ed Parry Scholarship: The Methodist Men award the Ed Parry Scholarship to one or more of our graduating seniors seeking continuing education. The packet is available in the church office. All applications are due no later than 2pm on May 1, 2025.

Methodist Women’s Scholarship: The Methodist Women will be awarding their annual college scholarship to a graduating senior that is a member of our church. Applications are now available in the church office and are due by May 2, 2025. 

New Members Class: Are you interested in becoming a member of Centreville Methodist Church? Sign up for our new members’ class by April 27th. More information is on the welcome table in the narthex.

Confirmation: Confirmation Retreat for 2025 will be May 16-18.  If you are interested, contact Pastor Karen and sign up by April 27th.   The signup sheet is on the welcome table in the narthex. 

VBS: If you are interested in helping with VBS this year please contact Larisa Thomas. VBS Save the Date: August 3 – 7, 2025 

Community Church Prayer: Please join us in praying for other churches in our area. We will lift up a church (some in our denomination and others that are not) in prayer during our worship service and in our intercessory prayer time and we want to encourage you to pray throughout the week. This week we will be praying for Snethen Methodist Church. 

Outreach Ministries

Outreach Meeting: Come bring your ideas, your hands and feet, or just your gumption and join us in planning for 2025. We will be meeting in the Double Classroom on Monday April 21 from 7-8 PM

Food Pantry: CMC's Food Pantry is open on the first and third Wednesdays of every month from 10 AM to 12 PM. 

Methodist Men: The Methodist Men meet for breakfast every Wednesday morning at 8:30am at the IHOP in Chester. All men are invited to join us. 

Methodist Women: The Methodist Women meet at church the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 1:30 pm. All the ladies of the church are welcome to join us.

Sewing Ministry: The Sewing Ministry meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 10am-12pm in the Red Room. 

Coat Drive: As Spring approaches and you start putting your winter coats in storage, please consider donating them to the church for our bi-annual Coat Drive that will be held on Oct. 4, 2025. 

Service Opportunities

CMC Helping Hands. A new ministry. Our intent is to provide assistance for completing routine tasks such as changing light bulbs and smoke detector batteries or raking leaves, etc., There could also be a need for occasional minor projects. If you are interested in lending a helpful hand to our church family, please fill out the volunteer sheet indicating the skills you offer. The volunteer sheet is in the Narthex.

BBQ Chicken Dinner: The Methodist Men will be holding their spring BBQ Chicken Dinner on April 30th. Tickets are $12 and will be on sale from April 6-20 in the Narthex and in the church office. Please consider volunteering to make this a success. A sign-up sheet for all preparation tasks will be at the ticket table and we are also asking for help in selling tickets so we can reach our goal of 1,000 dinners. Contact Allan Stevenson at astevenson44@verizon.net or 410-758-4081 (home landline) for additional information. 

Methodist Women’s Bake Sale: The Methodist Women will be holding a bake sale during the Methodist Men's Chicken Barbeque on Wednesday, April 30th. We ask if you find it in your heart, please bake some of your delicious goodies for the bake sale. Items need to be at the church by 1:00 the day of the sale, as they will need to be priced and displayed. All proceeds will be used for the Women's Scholarship Fund and Local Community Missions. Altar Guild: We need volunteers to help care for the altar. Duties include changing linens, candles, and vessels to prepare for worship services. If interested, please contact Beth Covington at 410-490-2118.

Usher/Greeter Sign Up: If you are interested in becoming an Usher/Greeter at the 11 am worship service, there is a signup sheet in the narthex. 

Prayer & Worship Opportunities

Healing Service: Please join us for a Healing Service on the 1st Sunday of each quarter at 7 pm in the Sanctuary.

Worship & Intercession: 1st Monday of the Month at 6:30 PM and every Tuesday morning at 10 am in the Prayer Chapel.

Healing Prayer Team: The Healing Prayer Team are available at the conclusion of every service in the Prayer Chapel and by request. If you would like to join the Healing Prayer Team, or if you have questions concerning the prayer ministry, please contact Dale Becraft at 410-829-1131 or dale.becraft@gmail.com

Corsica Hills Worship: We will have worship services once a month at Corsica Hills. The next service will be May 4, 2025 @ 2:30pm.   If you are interested in helping, please contact Royce Herman at raherman1@verizon.net

Learning and Growing Opportunities

The Chosen Season 2 Bible Study: This class is held on Wednesdays at 1 and 7:30pm and begins May 14th. You may purchase the book online at either Amazon.com or Christianbook.com. A sign-up sheet is in the narthex.

Adult Sunday School Classes: Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM in Double Classroom led by Jerry Thomas or 9:50 AM in the Pentecost Room, led by Janie Nickle. All are welcome!

Children’s Sunday School: Sunday’s at 9:50 am. Ages Pre-K and up. 

Youth Group: Centreville Youth Ministry (CYM) meets the 2nd and 4th Sunday every month at 5:30 PM. All youths in the 6-12 grade are invited! 

Young Adults Gathering: We have a group of young adults (18-35ish) who gather for dinner, conversation, and often play games once a month. All young adults are welcome to join us.

Iron Sharpens Iron Men’s Fellowship: This group meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30pm in the Pentecost room in the Sunday School wing.  Open to all men!  

Beauty for Ashes Women’s Fellowship: This group meets on the 2nd Monday of the month at 6:30pm in the Yellow Room. All ladies are welcome to join us.
