Meal Train: A member of our church family, Darrel Johnson’s wife Pat has unfortunately been diagnosed with cancer. Please lift Pat, Darrel and the family up in prayer as they navigate this difficult situation. In order to help lift a small burden off this family during treatments and doctor visits we have set up a meal train. Please visit https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/ml2553 to sign up to provide a meal. If you have any questions, please contact the church office. 

Methodist Women: The Methodist Women’s meeting scheduled for January 13th has been cancelled. 

Offering Envelopes: 2026 Offering envelopes are here and available for pickup in the narthex. 

Church Offices will be closed Monday, January 19th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. 

Little Lights Learners Fundraiser: Little Lights Learners is doing a HONEY of a fundraiser! It is delicious and a great way to support our preschool. We will be selling local honey from January 25 - February 6th. We will have a sign up to purchase after each church service on 1/25/26. Or you can buy anytime by emailing Theresa Farnell @ tfarnell@centrevillemethodist.org.

Ed Parry Scholarship (EPS) 2026 – Coming Soon: The EPS program assists active CMC high school graduates pursuing post-high school education. Scholarship program details will be available mid-February. For now, to ensure follow-up in February, interested graduates may contact the CMC office where an interest/follow-up list is being maintained.

Community Church Prayer: Please join us in praying for other churches in our area. We will lift up a church (some in our denomination and others that are not) in prayer during our worship service and in our intercessory prayer time and we want to encourage you to pray throughout the week. This week we will be praying for Rock Hall Methodist & Wesley Chapel of Rock Hall. 

Outreach Ministries

Food Pantry: CMC's Food Pantry is open on the first and third Wednesdays of every month from 10 AM to 12 PM. Thanks to everyone contributing and the volunteers who serve our clients all year long. Contact Allan Stevenson at astevenson44@verizon.net or 410-758-4081(landline) for more information.

CMC Helping Hands: Attention CMC Congregation - Do you need assistance with tasks, such as changing light bulbs or smoke detector batteries? Need help with small electrical or construction problems? Need transportation to appointments or temporary meals while convalescing or being a caregiver? CMC Helping Hands is willing and able to assist. When your need arises, simply write your name, phone number and specific need on a card provided and drop in the Helping Hands box located on the table in the Narthex. Please contact Joyce Stevenson, 410-490-8607 or Larisa Thomas, 240-994-5042 if you have any questions. 

Methodist Men: The Methodist Men meet for breakfast every Wednesday morning at 8:30am at the IHOP in Chester. All men are invited to join us.  

Methodist Women: The Methodist Women meet the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 1:30 pm. All women of the church are welcome! January’s meeting is cancelled due to illness. See you in February!

Sewing Ministry: Sewing ministry meets the second Wednesday of the month, 10:00 to 12:00, in the Red Room. You don't need to know how to sew because we ensure that everyone can help do something to complete what we are working on. Call Donna Ray, 301-452-4861 if you would like more information. Prayer & Worship Opportunities

Intercessory Prayer: Tuesday and Thursday -10:00A.M. (Contact Dale Becraft at 410.829.1131 for location.)

Healing Service: 1st Sunday of each quarter – 7:00 P.M. (Prayer for healing will also be available during each Sunday service. 

Prayer Study: The book study, “The Power to Heal “ will begin on Wednesday, January 7 at 12:30 PM and will run for 6 weeks. The book can be found at Amazon. There is a signup sheet on the table in the lobby. For more information contact Dale Becraft at dale.becraft@gmail.com.

Corporate Concert of Prayer- Every 5th Sunday- 7:00 P.M.

Corsica Hills Worship: We will have worship services once a month at Corsica Hills. The next service will be January 25, 2026 at 2 pm. If you are interested in helping, please contact Royce Herman at raherman1@verizon.net

Learning and Growing Opportunities

Practicing the Way Bible Study: What better way to begin the New Year than with a course that is designed to help get you started on the journey of spiritual formation. Join Pastor Karen on Wednesdays beginning January 7 – March 25th at 1:30pm or 7:30pm. You are invited to purchase or listen (available on Audible) to the book. Those that join us for class will be given a workbook that we will print for you. We will not be purchasing this book in bulk, each participant can purchase one individually.    

Adult Sunday School Classes: Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM in Double Classroom led by Jerry Thomas studying Integrity, Living the Truth, or 

 9:50 AM in the Pentecost Room, led by Janie Nickle studying Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis.

Iron Sharpens Iron Men’s Fellowship: This group meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30pm in the Pentecost room in the Sunday School wing.  Open to all men. Next Meeting is January 12.

Beauty for Ashes Women’s Fellowship: This group meets on the 2nd Monday of the month at 6:30pm in the Yellow Room. All ladies are welcome to join us. Next Meeting is January 12.

Children’s Sunday School: 9:50 -10:50 AM. Kindergarten - 8th grade.

Youth Group: Centreville Youth Ministry (CYM) begins their fall schedule in September.  All youths in middle or high school are invited! For more information, please email Pastor Karen at khandy@centrevillemethodist.org

Service Opportunities

Altar Guild: Have you been looking for an opportunity to serve? Then…

The Altar Ministry is looking for YOU!! This group of volunteers cares for the altar, paraments (cloths that adorn the altar, pulpit, and lectern) and communion vessels. Tasks include replacing candles weekly and setting up the communion table on the first Sunday of the month. Help is needed for the months of July, September, and November. Volunteers commit to one month at a time, typically 4 Sundays. If you are interested, please call Beth Covington at 410-490-2118.

Usher/Greeter Sign Up: If you are interested in becoming an Usher/Greeter at the 11 am worship service, there is a signup sheet in the narthex.
