COMMUNITY NIGHT AT DOC’S RIVERSIDE GRILL: For the month of May on Tuesday nights, Doc’s Riverside grill will donate 10% of dinner proceeds to CMC’s Food Pantry.

COMMUNITY MEAL: Join us for a FREE Community Dinner at Centreville Methodist Church on Saturday, May 30th at 6pm. We are fortunate to live in and around the great town of Centreville, come and join us in sharing time, conversation, and a meal with our neighbors. All are welcome. We’d love to see you there!

BRIDGING OUR COMMUNITY: Join us on June 5 at the QAC Family YMCA from 4p-7p for an exciting evening filled with fun, connection, and positive energy to uplift our youth.  This event is in partnership with the YMCA and the Mid Shore Suicide Coalition.  We are bringing our portable gaga pit and need some volunteers to help man the pit and spread the word about our amazing youth group!

PENTECOST/NEW MEMBERS SUNDAY – COMBINED SERVICE – May 31st at 10 AM.  Join us on Sunday, May 31st for a combined service at 10am to celebrate Pentecost and welcome our new members and confirmands and recognition of our 2026 graduates. After the service we will have a “bring your own picnic” lunch. Desserts will be provided.

2026 GRADUATES: If you are graduating High School or College this year please contact the church office with your information. We will be recognizing all graduates at our Combined Service on May 31st at 10am. 

VBS (Rainforest Falls) June 22-26 from 6pm – 8:30pm, with a family picnic Monday night. Registration is Open: Click Here! In the Narthex is our Donation Request List as well as sign-up sheet for adult and student Volunteers. We especially need extra help with the picnic on Monday.

SUMMER SCHEDULE: The church office will be closed on Fridays during the summer beginning Friday, May 22nd thru September 4th.  The last day for Little Lights Learners is June 5th. The last day for children’s Sunday school is June 7th.

BAPTISM SUNDAY: Are you interested in being baptized or remembering your baptism? If so, sign up in the narthex. We will have a Baptism Sunday in the river at Camp Pecometh on June 14th! For more information, contact Pastor Karen. 

LITTLE LIGHTS LEARNERS: We had a very successful first year for Little Lights Learners! Our first class will be graduating on June 5th. Registration for the 2026-2027 school is open! Spread the word.

COMMUNITY CHURCH PRAYER: Please join us in praying for other churches in our area. We will lift up a church (some in our denomination and others that are not) in prayer during our worship service and in our intercessory prayer time and we want to encourage you to pray throughout the week. This week we will be praying for Grace Fellowship Church.

Outreach Ministries

FOOD PANTRY: : CMC's Food Pantry is open on the first and third Wednesdays of every month from 10 AM to 12 PM.   Thanks to Joan and David Baxter for creating "Happy Birthday Party" kits with their grandchildren for our pantry shoppers. They put big smiles on many faces, parents and grandparents alike. We would also like to express our appreciation to Norma and Dick Coursey for their generous support throughout the year. CMC HELPING HANDS: Attention CMC Congregation - Do you need assistance with tasks, such as changing light bulbs or smoke detector batteries? Need help with small electrical or construction problems? Need transportation to appointments or temporary meals while convalescing or being a caregiver? CMC Helping Hands is willing and able to assist. When your need arises, simply write your name, phone number and specific need on a card provided and drop in the Helping Hands box located on the table in the Narthex. METHODIST MEN: The Methodist Men meet for breakfast every Wednesday morning at 8:30am at the IHOP in Chester. All men are invited to join us.  

METHODIST WOMEN: The Methodist Women meet the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 1:30 pm. All women of the church are welcome! Last meeting for the summer is June 9th. The CMC bake sale to benefit the Goodwill Fire Company next Wednesday has been cancelled due to weather concerns. Thanks to all who considered helping our local first responders raise money for equipment and other necessary expenses.

Sewing Ministry: Sewing ministry meets the second Wednesday of the month, 10:00 to 12:00, in the Red Room. We will not meet during the summer. See you in September! Call Donna Ray, 301-452-4861 if you would like more information.

HEALING SERVICE: 1st Sunday of each quarter – 7:00 P.M. (Prayer for healing will also be available during each Sunday service. 

A CONCERT OF PRAYER - Every 5th Sunday- 7:00 P.M. Next service is May 31

CORSICA HILLS WORSHIP: We will have worship services once a month at Corsica Hills. The next service will be May 31, 2026 at 2 pm If you are interested in helping, please contact Royce Herman at raherman1@verizon.net

Learning and Growing Opportunities

THE CHOSEN SEASON 3 BIBLE STUDY: On May 27th, we will begin our Chosen Season 3 Bible Study. It will be offered on Wednesdays at 1:30 and 7:30 PM. You may purchase the workbook on Amazon or Christianbook.com.  Sign up sheet is in the narthex.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES: Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM in Double Classroom led by Jerry Thomas, or  9:50 AM in the Pentecost Room, led by Janie Nickle.

IRON SHARPENS IRON MEN’S FELLOWSHIP: This group meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30pm in the Pentecost room in the Sunday School wing.  Open to all men. 

BEAUTY FOR ASHES WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP: This group meets on the 2nd Monday of the month at 6:30pm in the Yellow Room. All ladies are welcome to join us. Beauty for Ashes will not meet during the summer. See you in September!

CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL: 9:50 -10:50 AM. Kindergarten - 8th grade. Last day is June 7th. See you back in September!

YOUTH GROUP: Centreville Youth Ministry (CYM) meets twice a month (schedule is posted in the monthly newsletter) All youths in middle or high school are invited! For more information, please email Pastor Karen at khandy@centrevillemethodist.org
