General Announcements - July 8, 2026

TIDES OF GRACE HELP: Tides of Grace has an overwhelming amount of last-minute clothing donations come in before our Free Summer Clothes & Things event, and we are honestly desperate for volunteers this Thursday from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM. We will gladly take any help we can get—even if you can only spare an hour, it would make a huge difference!

NURSERY HELP: The Nursery is looking for someone to provide coverage during both worship services on August 9th. If you are available to help, please contact the church office or Stacey Strotman. Must be able to complete ministry safe training and background check. 

LITTLE LIGHTS LEARNERS: Pre-K Registration for the 2026-2027 school is open and is filling up fast! Registration forms can be found on our website. Call the church office for more information or email Theresa Farnell at tfarnell@centrevillemethodist.org.

NOW HIRING PART TIME TEACHERS AIDE: We are now hiring for a teacher’s aide/assistant for our Little Lights Learners pre-k program. This is a part-time position, Wed, Thurs., Friday from 8:30am – 12:30pm. Interested applicants may send their resume to office@centrevillemethodist.org no later than July 10th. 

SUMMER SPECIAL MUSIC: CMC musicians of all ages are invited to take part in this year’s summer special music program at the 11am service in July and August. Sign up for a solo, duo, trio, or ensemble with friends. Sign up sheet is in the church narthex. 

RECYCLING: As you may know, the Town of Centreville no longer does curb side recycling pickups. We are looking for a few volunteers to do bi-weekly and/or monthly runs to a local recycling facility to drop off our recycling.   If you are interested in helping us recycle, please contact the church office. 

OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT: Our next free outdoor movie night will be July 18th. Stay tuned for more details. 

SUMMER SCHEDULE: The church office will be closed on Fridays during the summer. Normal office hours will resume in September.    

COMMUNITY CHURCH PRAYER: Please join us in praying for other churches in our area. We will lift up a church (some in our denomination and others that are not) in prayer during our worship service and in our intercessory prayer time and we want to encourage you to pray throughout the week. This week we will be praying for St. Luke’s Methodist Church.

Outreach Ministries

FOOD PANTRY: CMC's Food Pantry is open on the first and third Wednesdays of every month from 10 AM to 12 PM.  Among the items we can always use are pancake mix, mustard, ketchup, and elbow macaroni.  If you see other items on sale while shopping, I can guarantee they will be appreciated by our shoppers. CMC HELPING HANDS: Attention CMC Congregation - Do you need assistance with tasks, such as changing light bulbs or smoke detector batteries? Need help with small electrical or construction problems? Need transportation to appointments or temporary meals while convalescing or being a caregiver? CMC Helping Hands is willing and able to assist. When your need arises, simply write your name, phone number and specific need on a card provided and drop in the Helping Hands box located on the table in the Narthex. METHODIST MEN: The Methodist Men meet for breakfast every Wednesday morning at 8:30am at the IHOP in Chester. All men are invited to join us.  

METHODIST WOMEN: The Methodist Women meet the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 1:30 pm. All women of the church are welcome! No more meetings for the summer. See you in September! 

The Sunshine branch of the Methodist Women send cards of cheer, concern, sympathy, etc. Contact Barb Galloway at 410-570-0037 or b.galloway@breezeline.net. 

Sewing Ministry: Sewing ministry meets the second Wednesday of the month, 10:00 to 12:00, in the Red Room. We will not meet during the summer. See you in September! Call Donna Ray, 301-452-4861 if you would like more information.

Prayer & Worship Opportunities

INTERCESSORY PRAYER: Tuesday and Thursday -10:00A.M. (Contact Dale Becraft at 410.829.1131 for location.)

HEALING SERVICE: 1st Sunday of each quarter – 7:00 P.M. (Prayer for healing will also be available during each Sunday service. NEXT HEALING SERVICE – JULY 5th.

A CONCERT OF PRAYER - Every 5th Sunday- 7:00 P.M. 

CORSICA HILLS WORSHIP: We will have worship services once a month at Corsica Hills. The next service will be July 19 at 2 pm.  If you are interested in helping, please contact Royce Herman at raherman1@verizon.net

Learning and Growing Opportunities

FORGOTTEN GOD by Francis Chan: A study about the Person and ministry of the Holy Spirt. Begins Wednesday, August 5th at 12pm & 6pm. Sign up in the narthex.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES: Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM in Double Classroom led by Jerry Thomas, or  9:50 AM in the Pentecost Room, led by Janie Nickle.

IRON SHARPENS IRON MEN’S FELLOWSHIP: This group meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30pm in the Pentecost room in the Sunday School wing.  Open to all men. 

BEAUTY FOR ASHES WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP: Beauty for Ashes will not meet during the summer. See you in September!

CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL: 9:50 -10:50 AM. Kindergarten - 8th grade. Children’s Sunday school doesn’t meet in the summer. See you back in September!
